Supreme Court today authorizes each State to enact their own Sports Gambling legislation.

In a landmark opinion for the Sports Betting and Sports Book industry, the Supreme Court struck down the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act, finding in an unconstitutional violation of the “anti-commandeering” provision of the 10th Amendment to the United States Consitituion.

Many states, in preparation for this opinion have either enacted legislation allowing and regulating sports betting, or alternatively have enacted legislation to conduct a study of what type of sports betting legalization is appropriate for their state.
