Texas Republicans Move To Decriminalize Pot?
Last week in San Antonio, delegates at the Texas Republican Convention added decriminalization of small amounts of pot to their party platform. While this is an interesting development at the convention, previous efforts to decriminalize pot in the state have fallen short in years past. Those failed efforts have been spearheaded by some of these same Republicans in the state legislature. Are they having a change of mind? Who knows? Meanwhile, pot remains an illegal drug in Texas and citizens need to be aware of its status and their rights regarding possession, medical use, etc. It will certainly be worth watching candidates address this issue as election time rolls around.
